2019: A year of renewal for the Fribourg Development Agency

The year 2019 was a busy one for the Fribourg Development Agency (FDA). It was marked not only by the entry into force of the revised Cantonal Law on Economic Promotion, which opens up new possibilities for supporting SMEs and start-up companies, but also by the arrival of its new Managing Director, Jerry Krattiger. During the past year, the FDA was in contact with almost 300 companies for first-time establishments or expansion projects in the Canton of Fribourg. Of these 300 projects, 35 have materialized, involving 13 newly founded companies (6 Swiss and 7 foreign companies) and 22 expansions of companies already established in the canton. These 35 company projects that were supported by the FDA will create 290 new jobs in the canton of Fribourg. This year, the FDA is also publishing for the first time the actual number of jobs created after 5 years compared to the jobs that were announced at the start of the project, five years earlier.   Annual Report 2019 (in french, in german)
