Companies that want to base their activities in the Canton can benefit from the active support of the Fribourg Development Agency in accessing additional funding incentives present within the Swiss market.
Funding to determine the viability of your project
The Seed Capital Fribourg Foundation grants loans called “Seed Capital” or “seed loans” to projects that are in the process of validating the technical and commercial viability of their idea. For example, the financing will enable project promoters to better define market needs by meeting potential client companies, to define product specifications and to produce a first prototype that will be used to effectively demonstrate that the idea has a real commercial potential.
Funding to get started
Capital Risque Fribourg is aimed at innovative companies that create jobs in the canton of Fribourg and develop products with high growth potential. Its intervention takes place mainly to support the acceleration phase of development, when the feasibility of the project is demonstrated, and the first sales have been made. Capital Risque Fribourg disposes of a capital of CHF 12,000,000 and takes limited minority shareholdings over time, up to a maximum amount of CHF 750,000 per company. This financing is provided by co-investing with other investors in financing rounds in the range of CHF 1 to 3 million.
Loan guarantee to secure access to bank credit
Cautionnement romand Western Switzerland’s Loan Guarantee Cooperative facilitates access to bank credit (operating loans or investment) in favor of independent and SMEs (except agriculture) who do not have the required equity nor sufficient guarantees, to achieve their project. The cooperative promotes economic development and job creation in the Cantons of Fribourg, Geneva, Neuchâtel, Valais and Vaud. It can commit to a credit amount of up to CHF 1,000,000.– satisfying a variety of needs (company creation, investment in machines and equipment, financing of inventory, etc.).
