Kromatix Ltd – A new technology company settles in the canton of Fribourg
Romont, the Swiss capital of glass and stained glass, is welcoming a real perl. The company Kromatix Ltd, which develops and industrializes colored photovoltaic glass panels, is setting up its new production plant in the industrial zone of La Maillarde. The technology developed with EPFL (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne) was adopted and further developed by Kromatix. The first prototypes were produced in Dubai, proving the feasibility of the concept. In the future, the Dubai subsidiary will take care of sales and projects in the Gulf States. Production will take place in Switzerland. More than 25 million Swiss francs have been invested to date. Numerous projects, in Switzerland and in several countries around the world, have already been successfully completed and have been awarded several technological and architectural prizes. In the medium term, Kromatix will create 50 new jobs on the site owned by the State of Fribourg. Production in Romont will start at the end of February 2021.
